On the Workbench: An Oceana Bracelet in Progress

There’s something lovely about seeing a piece of jewellery take shape, while the possibilities are still spread out across the workbench. Today we’re sharing a peek at a bracelet Rachael is working on, made from light bronze metal clay and full of detail from our Oceana texture collection.

The individual panels are laid out alongside the cutters from our friends at Slip Fit Modular. Their softly rounded shapes frame the ocean-inspired textures beautifully, with an octopus, a starfish, shells and flowing patterns each bringing something different to the design.

Look closely and you’ll see how much there is to explore within each little panel. The raised borders give the textures room to shine, while the changing sizes create a lovely rhythm along the planned bracelet.

And there’s more to come: the finished bracelet will be two-sided, giving Rachael another surface to play with and the wearer detail to enjoy on both sides.

For now, these photos capture a favourite part of the making process—the sketches, the tools and the carefully formed metal clay components, before everything comes together. We’re looking forward to sharing how this little piece of Oceana develops.
